Excellent Form in Innsbruck 2024

Innsbruck (FIL/06.12.2024) – The Olympic Luge Centre in Innsbruck–Igls hosted the second FIL Nations Cup of the 2024/25 season on Friday, 6 December 2024. On the traditional ice track dating back to 1976, lugers from around the world competed in this qualification race for the weekend's EBERSPAECHER Luge World Cup.
In the men's competition, victory went to 23-year-old David Noessler of Germany. With an impressive time of 50.894 seconds, the athlete from Thuringia edged out Jozef Ninis of Slovakia, who finished just 0.029 seconds behind, while Andriy Mandziy of Ukraine claimed third place, 0.299 seconds back.

Slovak luger Jozef Ninis delivered a strong performance in the second round of the Luge World Cup in Igls, Austria.
He qualified for the race through the Nations Cup, where he finished in second place. The athlete from the Kysuce region went on to secure 13th place in the second World Cup run.

Luge World Championships: Jozef Ninis Finishes 20th
Slovak luger Jozef Ninis finished 20th in the men's singles event at the World Championships in Whistler. He was 1.577 seconds behind the winner Max Langenhan, who claimed his second consecutive world title.
The silver medal was won by another German athlete, Felix Loch, while the podium was completed by Austrian representative Nico Gleirscher. Ninis's compatriot Marián Skupek narrowly missed a place in the top twenty and finished 24th overall.

The 32nd Gitschberg Start Cup 2025, a traditional start competition held on the artificially iced start track of the Gitschberg Sports Club, is just around the corner.
